Scientific Name: Antennaria pulcherrima
Family Name: Asteraceae
Life Span: Perennial
Height: <15 cm
Habitat: In low to mid elevations of moist to dry, open forests and meadows; generally, absent from wet climates.
Leaf Description: Basal oblanceolate shape, 1-3.5 cm. long and 2.5-10 cm. wide; stem leaves linear.
Flower and Petal Description: Numerous heads in a tight cluster; pistillate involucres 7-11 mm. high, the bracts blunt-tipped, the scarious part bright white, rarely pink; pistillate corollas 5-8 mm. long.
Stem Description: Densely white-woolly throughout.
Fruit Description: Are smooth achene, with a pappus of many fine white hairs.
This flower is non-native to the area.
