Large-leaved Lupine

Scientific Name: Lupinus polyphyllus
Family Name: Fabaceae
Bloom Period: Spring
Life Span: Perennial
Height: Up to 80 cm.
Habitat: Widespread in moist climates of Fraser and Thompson plateaus and scattered in wetlands. Common along roadsides, clearings, forests.
Leaf Description: Palmately compound, mostly on stem with stalks 1-2 times as long as blade and 6-8 land-shaped leaflets. Smooth above and hairy below.
Flower and Petal Description: Pea-like bluish to lavender in an elongated cluster.
Stem Description: Slender and hairy below clusters.
Fruit Description: Hairy pods.
This flower is non-native to the area.
