Flower and Petal Description: Numerous heads in a tight cluster; pistillate involucres 7-11 mm. high, the bracts blunt-tipped, the scarious part bright white, rarely pink; pistillate corollas 5-8 mm. long.
Stem Description: Densely white-woolly throughout.
Fruit Description: Are smooth achene, with a pappus of many fine white hairs.
